Voltage is the single biggest lever a consumer has over flavor and vapor. Specifying the right battery — and labeling the right starting voltage — reduces returns and protects your oil's profile.

Fixed vs. variable voltage
Fixed-voltage batteries are simpler and cheaper but unforgiving across oil types. Variable-voltage batteries (like Empti Pulse) let consumers find the sweet spot, which is especially valuable for flavor-forward live resin.
Recommended ranges
Start low and step up: 2.5–2.8 V for delicate terpenes, 3.0–3.4 V for balanced distillate, up to 3.6 V for thick oil that needs more energy to mobilize. Above this, you risk scorching.
Preheat modes
Preheat gently warms thick oil before a draw, improving first-pull consistency in cold environments. Coach consumers to use short preheat cycles rather than holding the button through a full draw.
